Brush Truck 1117

Truck 1117 is used by the SRFD to combat wildland fires. This truck is equipped with front mounted spray bars which may be operated while driving the truck. These front spray bars face directly at the ground and are mounted in the bumper of the truck. Many times this is used when the SRFD has a perimeter that needs to be sprayed to stop a fire from going a certain direction. 1117 has the ability to inject an Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) into the handlines. This enables firefighters to not only cool down the burning substance, but also place a coating over it to block oxygen from getting in. This foam is always on-board and ready at a turn of a valve.
